The Serfs – “Electric Like An Eel”

If you had the release of a danceable post-industrial banger featuring a wave of harmonica cascading throughout it on your 2023 bingo card, then congratulations — The Serfs have won it for you. “Electric Like An Eel”, the latest preview from the Cincinnati punk trio’s upcoming album, Half Eaten by Dogs, is far and away in its own lane of the current where their modern contemporaries move, though its razored up guitars, deep bellow bass, and airsoft effects does plug some of its lineage back to the severe cool dark energy of Joy Division, appropriately enough to kick off spooky season with its fair share of sparks. Force both dangerous and stimulating are moving through Dylan McCartney, Dakota Carlyle, and Andie Luman’s night moves, and it’s as if the electrophorus electricus has become an instrument itself in their night moves.

The Serfs’ Half Eaten By Dogs will be released October 27th on Trouble In Mind Records.
