House of Feelings are back. Again. After de facto leader Matty Fasano took a break from the project to pursue other avenues in the music world (he managed the likes of cumgirl8 and CHRISTEENE, who’ve both gone on to good things in signing with 4AD and opening for Fever Ray, respectively), he and songwriter Joe Fassler have regrouped properly as a band on their return single, “Husbands”. It’s a listen stylized with chic techno house lite synths as Fasano clinkers the chandeliers and champagne glasses in a tongue-in-cheek salute to toxic masculinity. “One more chance to save our lives / Before we’re husbands / One more chance to save our lives / Before we’re wives,” a harmony of future ghosts sets out to swallow that red pill hard before squandering its youth.
