Chelsea Wolfe – “Dusk”

In a traditional sense, “Dusk” symbolizes the end of a daylight in our lives, but for Chelsea Wolfe, it may as well be her dawn. The Los Angeles songwriter has traversed through many forms of the dark in this earthly nature throughout the course of her career, from apocalyptic folk, gothic ballads, and industrial schisms, but in “Dusk”, her new single and first instance recording alongside TV On the Radio’s Dave Sitek, an alchemy awakens of newness within her designs tracing past hells into the present day divine like a synergic sculpture of synthetic pillars marching into psychedelic solar flares. “And I would give you my life / One sin leads to another / And I will go though the fire / To get to you,” she dissolves into flames. Juxtaposed with the threat of nightfall, Wolfe fights for light with those who’ve stood by her even when the sky showed her nothing.
