“Teeth Marks” bites deep into both the technical and emo aptitude of Will Green, the former metalcore vet, guitarist, and fitness guru who has now come into his own steering us all through the chaos of our everyday existence with his punk-pop outlet, Full Blown Meltdown. The nomadic DIY champ does so by maxing out on his knowledge of the past 25 years of the scene’s every turns at that. But so is life filled with them, and this comes through the super stressed fringes of his style, with the latest preview from his debut album, Mollify, finding ways to knot together the delicate of American Football seasons past with today’s theatrically bashed up harbingers of relational devastation akin to Origami Angel and Glass Beach using whatever frays he can get his hands on. “Apologize for what? You’re the one that fucked up / You made a real big mess / And we both know that somebody has got to pay,” he shouts, and those voices bouncing off his skull multiply as the listen wears on. There’s a lot going on here and the noises inside his head don’t let up, yet Green still manages to hold it all together.
Full Blown Meltdown’s Mollify will be released October 6th.
