The more unusual sounds made for dance floors aren’t necessarily those created in the midnights of your major big city scenes, and the Serfs are a testament to that. “Club Deuce”, the lead single from the Cincinnati electronic punk trio’s forthcoming third studio effort, Half Eaten By Dogs, is a transfiguring listen leading to an alternative gateway beyond sights seen in plain sight. Sculpted from an icy layer of synths, streaking vocal effects, and an allure in the dark pulling two bodies together into a place only they know exists from the energy they feel, the prism which the band’s multi-instrumentasts of Dylan McCartney (vocals, percussion, guitar, bass, electronics), Dakota Carlyle (electronics, bass, guitar, vocals) and Andie Luman (vocals, synths) craft to set this scene is hit by anything but a common neon light.
The Serfs’ Half Eaten By Dogs will be released October 27th on Trouble In Mind Records.
