They tell you to keep moving forward. It’s a positive thought. The belief that all your worries and woes will be behind you as long as you carry on. Life always has other plans for us, though, and Restraining Order are here to ensure that it doesn’t fuck us over even if it tries. “Another Better Day”, the latest preview from the Western Mass hardcore punk band’s forthcoming sophomore effort, Locked In Time, steps up to those challenges in the way, and pushes right past them. “I’m moving on / The best of the best / ‘Cause things will never last,” Patrick Covens declares in its shout-along chorus, barreling his own path through walls and over hurdles with an assist from the snotty, mean-mugging thrash anthem built around the classics with a modern attitude by way of bassist Keith Freeman, drummer Will Hirst, guitarists Dylan Tobia, Kyle Beaudreault and Jake Miller. Tomorrow best be a better day, or else Restraining Order will fix that problem.
