Fully Blown Meltdown – “Party With Villains”

While not having a full frontal view of the music industry in the same way Will Green has across his career in the metalcore and DIY punk scenes, a quick glance at the timeline over the last several years tells you as much you need to know about how it’s a seedy, treacherous experience full of crooks, fakes, and blood thirsty “friends” looking to make a buck for themselves off artists who are wholly intentional. “Party With Villains”, the latest single from Green’s one-person punk project Full Blown Meltdown, compresses every bad experience from anyone on the losing end of the biz and channels it through one single body, knowing full well that max capacity can’t contain it all. This isn’t even a matter of going from 0 to 100 in turning it on either. It’s overdrive from the start, with Green and the gang vocals from the inner recesses of his head being hit metaphorically by a bash of drums and manic riffs swing, swing, swinging on full-throttle, missing those moving goal posts set by industry games. “Aren’t we all one in the fucking same?,” he asks. Eventually, the listen drains him dry, and it’s only when there’s nothing left for that body to give where the fun crawls to a stop. Once he’s got something new to offer, they’ll surely hit him up again.
