Water From Your Eyes – “14″

Press play on “14″, the latest single from Water From Your Eyes’ Matador debut, Everyone’s Crushed, and give in to its disorienting effects. They’re here to guide you, oddly enough, away from whatever path that’s led you astray in life (define that however you may.) Rachel Brown and Nate Amos are no strangers to weirding out the sonic universe with whatever instruments they pick up – oft coiled into something indistinguishable and alien – but perhaps this is all the more reason why this listen in particular targets synapse and senses all the more intimately human, with the pair going nearly au natural in their own otherness approach to it. Strings swell and are carefully plucked out of a droning ether, mirroring Brown’s own disintegration of the things which don’t serve their self. “How many is 14?,” Brown asks, elliptically, as if to purge that thought until it, too, burns into the natural light.

Directed by: Rachel Brown

Water From Your Eyes’ Everyone’s Crushed will be released May 26th on Matador Records.
