Hardcore, punk, power-pop, indie rock, and the stranger strains of borderless rock music in-between, Angel Du$t have been bringing listeners on a heck of a joyride since forming out of the body of Justice Tripp’s unapologetically violent pit slingers Trapped Under Ice. Self-awareness in their multitudes has only maintained the band be all the more rabid in their sonic evolution, however, and Tripp and company are intent on keeping it that way on “Very Aggressive”, one of two of the Baltimore band’s latest singles. “Rock ‘n’ roll is such a broad spectrum of music, but I think sometimes people will focus in on just one thing. I wanted to try and represent a lot of different angles — all of the things Angel Du$t has been so far. It feels like we’re just totally off the leash,” he said of his current headspace when writing the song. The listen surely is the art of the follow through in its feral head smash with heart-stomping measure in choral refrain where Tripp is joined by Citizen frontman Mat Kerekes. In the spin of emotions, Angel Du$t get spacey and toy with speed like gods wielding gravity. Very aggressive indeed, but not at all offensive to those with a taste for a bit of healthy, unhinged fun.

Angel Du$t’s “Very Aggressive” single is available now on Pop Wig.
