Incendiary – “Echo of Nothing”

Incendiary are less concerned with trend in hardcore and more intent on delivering a resounding message nobody else wants to step up to deliver. “Echo of Nothing”, the second preview from the Long Island four-piece’s fourth studio LP, Change the Way You Think About Pain, is a clear one. Using their power of intimidation as a force of good for the greater of humanity, Brendan Garrone, always-hulking in presence, and a tidal wall of imposing riffs and an epicenter-rocking quake, comes down hard on the trickle down effect of political fuck-ups surrounding the modern day refugee crises across Syria and Libya. “All quiet on the western front / While they cry for help in the eastern mud / Refusing the calls to deliver aid / Because the waiving flag is a different shade.” The situation is beyond dire, and with all systems failing, it’s a matter of action or consequence. “Every window deserves a brick,” he shouts, shattering the silence on the other end.

Incendiary’s Change The Way You Think About Pain will be released May 26th on Closed Casket Activities.
