Militarie Gun – “Do It Faster”

The rabid tongue of Militarie Gun frontman Ian Shelton describes “Do It Faster”, the band’s new single and first preview from their seriously anticipated debut LP, is about his “overall impatience with life” and “the agonizing wait for things to materialize… so before resigning to do it myself, I’m imploring the world to just move faster.“ This explains a lot as to how the band went from a side-piece to his visceral powerviolence band Regional Justice Center to a hardcore festival headliner and touring powerhouse in such short time. But more than that, Militarie Gun have finessed the grit in their sound, creating melodic punk bites that sustain Shelton’s bark. “Waste my time / Waste my life / As I sit and wait for you / I don’t see what’s up to me / Why I got to be your stooge?,” he asks. The band sound ready for the spotlight, and they’re making it happen on their own timeline, which is sooner rather than later.
