Nicole Yun is the lead singer and guitarist of the beloved and underrated Virginia-based experimental pop outfit Eternal Summers, and while the warm wavering textures of her primary outlet are welcome at this point in the wintertime, “Lost Keys” takes a ride of desire to an equally comforting escape. As the lead single from her sophomore solo effort, Matter, the listen is decidedly as much of a sonic vitamin D fix brim full of jangled power-pop that hits from a different light. “Services serve us you see / And goods are good / They’re what we need,” she coos over scattering sunrays. The positive affirmation finds a way to take you some place you need to be, for sure.
