“Lowered Rainbow”, the final preview from Pile’s imminent new album, All Fiction, is intriguing not only because of its themes of occult culture and conspiracy theory origins, but also because it boggles the Boston noise rock trio as an experimental jazz changeling. Cymbals clash, piano keys fly though open space, and yet there’s structure in the supernatural discord that finds influence from zones beyond which Pile have usually gravitated to.
