A rare ballad within the Deerhoof sonic multiverse, “Wedding, March, Flower”, the latest preview from the experimental art rock band’s new album, Miracle-Level, hears Greg Saunier on lead vocals, hushing words written by Satomi Matsuzaki, Between a tender piano played by Saunier and Satomi plotting its drum line, the listen moves with an understated beauty even as it bouquets something grander in the big picture.
