“A wise man once said, ‘Ain’t nothing left to fear from the dead’ / You either believe / In God or ghosts, but nothing in between,” Paris Roberts scratches existentialist on “Clearskin”, the second preview from Truth Cult’s upcoming sophomore album, Walk the Wheel. In the year of our Lord 2023, the minute-and-a-half-plus burst smashes timelines between the Baltimore band’s proximity to D.C. punk and post-hardcore scenes of decades’ past, a raw garage rock rage, and a healthy amount of psychedelic knowledge in its final seconds that sees the point of this life through from a higher level beyond what’s physically tangible to grasp.
Truth Cult’s Walk the Wheel will be released March 3rd on Pop Wig.
