“The album is about trying to let go of those self-destructive tendencies and embrace change,” says GEL vocalist, Kaiser, of the Jersey blastbeat hardcore band’s long-anticipated debut full-length, Only Constant. After busting ass at lives shows and a smattering of singles and EPs, Kaiser alongside guitarists Anthony Webster and Maddi Nave, bassist Bobko, and drummer Zach Miller find themselves at a fever pitch level within the scene that hinges between happiness and the ability to garner strays from haters online, and the album’s first listen “Attainable” squashes any and all forces from the latter trying to detract away from the former. There is a path to peace and optimism while also sounding like you’re going to rip someone’s limbs off if they step up to thwart it.
