19 albums into their storied career, and Deerhoof are just entering a proper studio with the forthcoming release of their new album, Miracle-Level (with producer Mike Bridavsky, the human companion of dearly departed Internet cat, Lil Bub, who inspired last year’s Deerhoof single “My Lovely Cat!”, albeit.) A welcome burst of sonically weird, autonomous, and more importantly, reactively intentional-for-these-times euphoric art-punk cranking through the current of its “Sit Down, Let Me Tell You a Story” assures us that there’s plenty of wonder left to be discovered through Deerhoof’s view of world if you put your ear up to the stereo and just listen.
