Delirium and an existential bestial burden – This is the frightening, in-your-face intensity Jesus Piece want you feel when hitting play on “Gates of Horn”, the latest impression off the heavy hardcore band’s forthcoming sophomore album, …So Unknown. It’s a jumpscare from the shadows straight from its start, with vocalist Aaron Heard ripping you through a labyrinth that even he’s lost in finding an escape from. “I’m aimlessly / Following / Through the haze / Of release,” he growls over industrial metallic fissures and riffs creating new bottomless pits at every turn. Wherever it leads, its end salvation is better than any past step.
