After pushing against his own mass-appealing art by challenging listeners to make sense of space age Junk, M83 is cozying back up with the grand-sweeping celestialsphere soundtracks his fusion of electronic and theatrical pop best luminate. “Oceans Niagara” is, as its lyrics state, beyond adventure, as it once again extends an invitational into M83’s galaxy where aerodynamic synths stream across pink, purple and red star-filled skies. Of course, you want to escape there because in Anthony Gonzalez’s sci-fi universe, everything feels possible.
