Following the buzz surrounding a coupling of 2022 singles, Bronx MC and drill rapper Ice Spice is coming into 2023 ready to stake her place in the game with the release of her major label and proper debut album due out sometime later this year. “In Ha Mood” is her latest dunk, with a blacklit beat produced by RIOTUSA and its bars serving as the obligatory statement for all the haters already pining for her downfall now that she’s on her rise. “No friends, I don’t fuck with the fakes / Sayin’ they love me, but wantin’ my place / Step in the party, I’m lookin’ the baddest / So the paparazzi in my face.” The defense goes up harder the more her star climbs, but that comes with the territory in ushering in a new era of rap-pop excellence.
