Rae Sremmurd – “Torpedo”

Time’s a funky thing to perceive in the content-oversaturation age, which makes it feel both fitting and weird to refer to Rae Sremmurd as “veterans” at this stage considering Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi have been dominant forces across the party rap-pop scene for the better part of the past decade before even cracking into their 30s. The bothers Sremm took some time away to focus on solo pursuits, but alongside ringing in the New Year with Miley tonight, they’ve got their fourth album, SREMM4LIFE, on the way sometime next year, which has already pre-gamed early with the singles “Denial” and the Flo Milli collab “Community Dick”. “Torpedo”, its latest preview, drops with a motive to be blared in the afterhaze of a ball drop, with Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi bouncing high and psychedelic around a beat made by Sonny Digital, SAV, and Austin Powerz, hitting its target audience right on time.

Directed by: Mike WiLL Made-It, Matt Swinsky & Medet Shayakhmetov

Rae Sremmurd’s “Torpedo” single is available now on Eardruma / Interscope Records.
