Beauty Pill – “I Don’t Live Today”

“I Don’t Live Today”, the latest hidden gem to be uncovered off Beauty Pill’s forthcoming Dischord-era anthology, Blue Period, is a “study of a Jimi Hendrix” song, and it shows in the fascinating detail in which the mind of the seminal D.C. band’s leader Chad Clark works. Built around a surround sound of propulsive drums moving in and out of your aural vantage point and a minimalist wave of Moog filters, Clark and company channel a wavering energy of ‘60s psychedelia through their art-punk clash, rendering a dissonant vibe in body and vibe.

Beauty Pill’s Blue Period will be released January 20th on Ernest Jenning Record Co.
