Prolific as she may be, Lana Del Rey’s evolution since forcing the world at large to take her craft seriously with 2019′s songwriting clinic Norman Fuckin’ Rockwell has been a subtle, yet meticulous one. “Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd”, the first preview and title track from her forthcoming album ninth studio album, is in alignment with the pillow-cushion balladry of her post-pop era that was further evident with last year’s Chemtrails Over the Country Club and Blue Banisters, but every blink of piano and syllable spoken or sung with the most acute observation from the Lana vantage point can still knock you off your feet. Being fucked to death never gets old coming from her lips, but tied in with a surprise history lesson on Southern California’s underground engineering, Del Rey continues to mesmerize us with every little thing that comes out of them.

Lana Del Rey’s Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd will be released March 10th on Interscope / Polydor Records.
