With “Two Ways”, it’s as if Weeping Icon may as well be trying to level a one-way conversation with a wall rather than a person in the wrong, and the gaslighting fuel rages throughout the Brooklyn noise-punk band’s fast spiral. “I’ll tell you what you want to hear / That you’re right / I’ll lay it on real good / And I’ll do what I want anyway,” proclaims with bravado guitarist and vocalist Sara Fantry in her best cosplay of a self-important man, sneering laughter thereafter in villainous fashion. Maybe words get through, but Weeping Icon provide the true mirror for what ugly resides behind the sadist.
