White Reaper have been around for a minute now, but something in the air feels like it might be their time to really break out as the next big alternative rock band ahead of their newly-announced fourth studio effort, Asking for a Ride. The climate is perfect for it, with their sound transitioning from fuzzed out rippers to hardened and gritty power-pop heard on its lead single, “Pages”, that slots in perfectly alongside what’s going on with the modern hardcore scene encroaching into big hooked-and-riffed dial movers in the likes of their 2023 tour openers, Militarie Gun, as well as bands like Angel Du$t and Drug Church. Plus, “Pages” simply tears it up in ultimate earworm form.
