The Molotov cocktail of hardcore that is Militarie Gun is evolving. The Los Angeles destructo band led by Regional Justice System’s Ian Shelton gave a glimpse of how malleable their sound could be in the capacity of collaboration with this past spring’s single with Dazy, “Pressure Cooker“, and with the re-release of last year’s doubling of great EPs, All Roads Lead To The Gun, as a deluxe edition featuring four brand new tracks, it’s becoming clear that the Gun is flexing hard outside even their own convention. This is especially true on “Can’t Get None” which hears the band’s teaming up with current tourmate Deedee of Mississippi rap-core hybrid MSPAINT. Compressing their volatility into digitized, blast beat production, Shelton’s howl meets its equal in Deedee’s confrontational bars. Together, they break from the leash and continue carving out a self-made identity.
