Jobber – “Heel Turn”

“Heel Turn”, the final preview off Jobber’s debut EP, Hell In A Cell, before its arrival this Friday, brandishes its ugly sides consciously. Like the pro-wrestling storyline arc it takes its namesake after, the latest listen from the Brooklyn band led by Kate Meizner is aware of the under-handed tactics it pulled to go into business for themselves, even if it’s at the cost of creating short-term conflict with a former ally. Just because the main character complex succeeded at getting what they wanted doesn’t mean they necessarily can’t recognize the guilt from their swerve, though, and that’s where Jobber’s sound takes on the real showdown in its downturned energy and vacant stares, pitting us against our selves.

Jobber’s Hell In A Cell will be released October 21st on Exploding In Sound Records.
