Between opening for Nine Inch Nails and soon enough, Danny Elfman, Boy Harsher are having a deserved huge year. All this comes on the heels of their latest standout, the original soundtrack to their own film, The Runner. The world of cinema has a natural pull on the Northampton dark electronic duo it seems, as they’ve since been hand-selected to join John Carpenter as part in setting the scene for the Halloween Ends soundtrack. “Burn It Down – Rework” is part of a just-released maxi single from their offering. Here, Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller resurrect ideas from their earliest demos with a new origin story in mind, dusting away murkier textures from its original impression in favor of sweeping twilight synth tension that captures the terror and thrill of a dangerous love.
Boy Harsher’s “Burn It Down” 12″ maxi single is available now on Nude Club / Sacred Bones Records.
