As the latest single and title track from his forthcoming third studio effort, Dougie Poole continues merging timelines between country traditionalism with the modern day plight of (post?) pandemic times as viewed through his Brooklyn city slicker vantage point. “I’m waiting here for so long / For something good,” his buttery baritone curls up to the void in a warm blanket of pedal steel and tin pan band rustling forth. Sometimes, microdosing on nihilism can be its own kind of comfort food, especially when it sounds like this.
