The last time I saw Weeping Icon was literally on stage at a DIY venue in Western Massachusetts days before a global pandemic would put a stop to all of that. During those years, the New York City band channeled those time’s depression isolation, societal upheaval, and protests into their unforgiving noise-punk alter, leading to the forthcoming three-track EP, Ocelli. “Pigs, Shit & Trash” hears them going eye for an eye with those persons and entities privy to living in their own bubbles, unaffected by a world even in its more dire state. Like a fly drawn to pigs, shit and trash (or former vice presidents during debate season, in this case…,) Weeping Icon excrete a vile revenge on their targets.
