Anxious – “Sunsign”

Anxious are about to join oso oso as openers on tour in support of their own big year with their breakthrough debut, Little Green House. Like Jade Lilitri and company, Anxious are sharing a new one in “Sunsign” ahead of hitting the road together. Here, the Connecticut punk and hardcore bridge-builders approach the studio (alongside oso oso producer Mike Sapone) with a candid emotional maturation in its own kind of adulting autumnal display through warm power-pop that doesn’t let up any of their edge. “But I’m afraid of growing up and awkward spaces different thoughts but / I’m the same and I complain again,” Grady Allen sings, stopping short of a scream. It’s a show of outward restraint in how he’s really feeling, and yet, inwardly stepping up the band’s creative bar.
