“When you were young you traced with a sharpie / The WWF logo in the corner of your TV / Making whole worlds / From the misheard words / Of all the songs you loved / But never bothered to learn,” whispers John Ross into a cusp of something once again immediately wistful in real time about Wild Pink’s music on “See You Better Moment”. While they’re not our memories and rather that of the writer behind the song itself, it’s impossible not to hear someone close through the tender Americana rock woven around guest shredder J Mascis’ electric pulse. It’s as comforting today as it was yesterday with whoever you feel in this moment.
