In the ether of Superheaven’s reunion earlier this year at Sound and Fury is Webbed Wing, the post-mortem project from members Taylor Madison and Jake Clarke. Though the grungy veil of their previous work looms heavily overheard along with the daily trudge and dredge, “I’m Feeling Alive” does its most to lift the weight they’ve shouldered. “I’m over feeling like the best part’s over / Like everything is just so pointless until the end,” their vocals coast along big, chunky alt-rock riff ridges. They’re not just breaking through into the brighter side of life, but crushing it, too.
