“So split my brain and watch me stumble every day and every night,” sings James Goodson on “Split”, the latest single from his one-person band dazy’s proper debut album, OUTOFBODY. Behind the punk rock publicist-gone-distortion-pop-maker’s words are the very feeling of an exploding head. His point of view in front of the fuzzed-out pedals is clear as day, but the full collapse of the mind is all he can see. Still, it’s a hellscape joyride in tradition with Joyce Manor’s “Constant Headache” or PUP’s “KIDS” where the sensation of being at wits end can’t help but unhinge a smile on your face.
dazy’s OUTOFBODY will be released October 28th on Lame-O Records.
