Wrestling innuendos out of everywhere with their upcoming debut EP, Hell In A Cell, Jobber are doing their best not to lay down for the count in life or the music biz on its first preview “Entrance Theme”. Think of the band as something akin to the inverse of recently recommended album-makers Hellzazor, and not just because it switches around lead vocal duties between that band’s members in bassist Kate Meizner of Maneka, the Glow, and formerly of Potty Mouth and Snail Mail touring duties, alongside former Speedy Ortiz axe man Mike Falcone, but if you removed the gravel and grunge and replaced it with neon synthesizers, you’d have a song like “Entrance Theme” where every indie artist hitting the road to tour would be the equivalent of hearing the crowd pop for Danhausen even though they know he’s usually eating the pin.
