Sweet Dreams of Violence was the name of last year’s much slept-on great debut by Candy Apple. We talk a lot about hardcore these days, but the Denver DIY punk trio do things on their own terms in not adorning their sound with clean vocals or familiar production credits. It’s a sound that embodies ugly and a bastion of the society we live in. With “I Don’t Want to Talk About It”, the lead single off their forthcoming EP, World for Sale, vocalist Tristan Sagar scoffs at the idea of being anywhere near you or I. “Don’t talk to me!,” he snarls, and who can blame him? Most of the people in this world fucking suck. Candy Apple are simply having a blast with that messed up thought.
