Alex G has spent the second half of the summer winding it down with characteristic weirdness leading up to the release of his latest album, God Save the Animals. As temperatures begin to cool and autumn wilts into view, the album’s latest preview “Miracles” is astute for our impending cuffing season, as the Philly songwriting darling rounds the bend into brambling folk work and rustic violin strings courtesy of Molly Germer. “How many more songs am I supposed to write before / I can turn it off and say goodnight?,” he ponders of tomorrow. For now, this one tucks you in alone just right.
