björk is back with fossora, her 10th studio album, which promises to remind us of the joys of how to “farrrrt” — taking much consideration from it being a fungal-infused “biological techno” album — because of course this a björk album mending the natural absurdity of existence with turning deeply inward. “atopos”, its lead single, fuses budding wind and brass instruments with electronic synapses uprooting from deep within the earth’s surface. “If my plant doesn’t reach toward / There’s internment, erosion toward all,” she sings, with emotional gestation being a complex process.
