L.S. Dunes – “Permanent Rebellion”

The pandemic brought with it a fuck ton of terrible things, but at least we can count L.S. Dunes as one of its unexpectedly great byproducts. The band features many a face and name anyone who counts themselves a fan of the Aughts emo and post-hardcore scene will be drawn to: Anthony Green of Circa Survive is the vocalist in both singing and screaming fashion. My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero and Coheed and Cambria’s Travis Stever jigsaw their respective anthem-appeasing riff styles together, while Thursday drummer Tucker Rule and bassist Tim Payne keep it all heavy. For the scene modernists, Will Yip produced their forthcoming debut album, Past Lives, and its first single “Permanent Rebellion” is pretty much the sum of all parts perfected for the fury of post-pandemic times. Throw in the return of No Devotion, Geoff Rickly’s other project alongside former members of lostprophets, and 2022 marks the second coming of the post-hardcore supergroup…
