MARTHE is the moniker of Marzia, an Italian multi-instrumentalist who has cut her teeth in her country’s scene with various crust punk and death rock bands, and is now moving into creating her own corner of heavy darkness as a solo artist who has now been signed by the metal label Southern Lord. Described as “Antifascist, feminist and misanthropic,” her latest single “Victimized” hungers from anger and feasts on retribution. It’s a shadowy form of black metal vocals echoing over a frenzy of satanic rites in riff form that scale the clouds and take over the atmosphere before descending into one final reckoning.
