Out from the noise-pop feedback and static that soaked his 2020 breakthroughs, Agitprop Alterna and the subsequent Moral Panic EP, is Peel Dream Magazine mastermind Joe Stevens on “Pad”, the lead single and title track from the Los Angeles-by-way-of-NYC musician’s upcoming third full-length effort. In the time since, it’s resounding that Stevens has honed in on the use of his own space in lieu of these past couple years’ pressurizing of isolation. “I can’t even tell if I miss my life,” he sighs, eschewing distraction for a softer focus on a psychedelic indie-pop energy, creating a balm of music that gives you every reason to sink into carelessness comfort.
