“Repeaters”, the second single from No Devotion’s self-titled sophomore effort and first new music in 7 years, channels what has long been a creative spiritual journey among its three moving human parts in Thursday’s Geoff Rickly alongside the remnants of lostprophets in bassist Stuart Richardson and guitarist Lee Gaze. A deep, dark atmosphere of slow careening post-punk and stardust pulls in hues of the Cure and Portishead, all the while the listen fights to move its way out from personal black holes. “Oh, it’s a circle but is it natural when it feels this way?,” Rickly wonders in the void. There’s no way out, though an end feels so far away…
