Wild Pink has never felt as intense as they do on “ILYSM”, the lead single and title track from the Brooklyn cosmic Americana band’s fourth full-length effort, due out astutely under the harvest season. Perhaps the emotional deep dive within the listen’s sprawling sonic fields and stargrazed post-rock brush strokes bringing us as the audience to the edge of a obsessive euphoria belies with the experiences of mastermind John Ross, who since the release of last year′s A Billion Little Lights has stared Death itself in the face, and here, scales the wonders of its opposite, Love, to the size of the moon as if it were that attainable from right outside the window. Even when it disappears, the view is spectacular in what it leaves behind.
