Big City are a Vancouver-based duo of Katayoon Y, guitarist of fuzz-fueled noise pop bands Puzzlehead and Hotline TNT, alongside underground dance experimentalist Davey Biddle of Copyright Linda Fox. This September, the tandem will be releasing their first EP, the five-track Liquid Times. On “Vicious”, the two sound like they’re collapsing the dimensions separating New Order, ‘90s rave, Chromatics, and maybe the slightest hint of static shoegaze being absorbed by its energy orb, which is to say their sound is as every bit of an anomaly as their other lives moving through the universe.
