Thanya Iyer is a quiet guiding force in turning sound into a meditative mirror. With her 2020 sophomore standout Kind, the multi-instrumentalist used those tools to reflect on her connection to the world around her. With “leave the room and face the waves”, the first single from the Montreal-based songwriter’s forthcoming EP, rest, she goes in the opposite direction with her mantric dissertation, this time in steadfast vulnerability that connects with her inner most spirit and the natural world through dancing alt-pop healing waters and cosmic jazz orbs floating through them.
