No Devotion – “Starlings”

It feels like it’s been 10,000 summers since we last heard from No Devotion, the band featuring Thursday frontman Geoff Rickly alongside the remnants of lostprophets, bassist Stuart Richardson and guitarist Lee Gaze, but on the cusp of their first tour since releasing their immaculate atmospheric post-hardcore debut in 2015′s Permanence, they’re back in our view with “Starlings”, the first single from their sophomore effort No Oblivion. What No Devotion uncover in their dark are the uncertainties of the self and sends signals through a cold prism into recipients unknown. “Does anybody else know how I feel? / The color’s running out, but the feeling is real,” Rickly observes. This is music that permeates the void and connects through the other side.

No Devotion’s No Oblivion will be released September 16th on Velocity Records.
