“I created my reality / And I’m sticking to it / I’m blending in,” wails Graham Sayles, a wall of beautiful discord climbing with him, in the opening moments of High Vis’ latest preview and title track off their forthcoming sophomore effort. The struggle to be perceived authentic is real here, though the sonic-bursting London band overcome any doubts on that in the manner Sayles’ vocals bleed with conviction and the heavy punk anthemry meets a U2-sized way of worship of the self. It serves as a reminder: You need no one’s permission to be whoever you want to be in a world that wants to tell you otherwise.
