It would be amazing if everyone had the chance to leave the ‘burbs or whatever nowhere place you’re from, and lead a more exciting day to day with it. Alas, inflation and the rising cost of housing makes those hip hub cities you see very online influencers living their best lives out of unobtainable for most. Still, “Gay Space Cadets”, the lead single from Lande Hekt’s sophomore effort, Home Without a View, plans its own escape even if the idea of breaking free from the capitalist drudge is one that requires outside the box thinking. Between the Muncie Girls vocalist’s wide-eyed optimism and the shimmer-strummed guitar pop breathing belief behind every word, Hekt is bent on discovering her own space and will transform the most ordinary surrounding into a self-defined possibility.
