Last Year, Strange Ranger self-released No Light In Heaven during an incredibly busy fall release schedule, and while dubbed a “mixtape”, the effort was arguably the Philly experimental indie act’s strongest release yet in its ambitions to carve out their our own astral plane in the ever-expanding sonic universe, with trip-hop, dream-pop, reverb-drenched punk, and Hollow Comet’s cosmic production bleeding seamlessly through. The great Chicago indie label Fire Talk have now made the wise decision to sign the band and re-release the effort as an expanded edition for more ears to hear. Now with the new cut “Raver Explanation”, the listen roves across a space age synthscape and extraterrestrial vocals that attempt to communicate a humanly disconnect across deepening voids.
