There are many creative genius floating abound Ava Luna, the Brooklyn avant-pop group which has given the world the likes of vocal truth Felicia Douglass, the uncanny musical comedy of Jennifer Vanilla, and the multi-instrumental and production powers of Julian Fader and Carlos Hernandez. “Your Sound” is the latest preview off Not Mine, Hernandez’ forthcoming debut solo effort as Carlos Truly, and sets him forth as their creative existentialist. Over a lush arrangement made of synthscapes, synapses of electric guitar, and hushed vocals peering through an experimental R&B haze, Hernandez ponders the relationship between voice, note, tone, and musical style in a manner that deeper connects with the art they inspire.
